At Forest Edge Farm, we tend to our flock like members of the family, giving each a name based on their unique personality. Our flock size varies but is kept under 20 hens of varying lineage, including those who we’ve bred & hatched on site - credit due to our hard working broody mamas! This allows us to increase the variety of egg colors and sizes in each carton.

Our chickens have supervised free range pasture time each day, with a wide variety of plants and fruits to graze and gobble, along with a great view of the South Sound. They are fed an all organic feed diet, supplemented with the organic goodies they encounter on their foraging adventures - we do not use pesticides on the property. This diverse foraging helps yolks to develop a beautiful orange color and strengthens shells. We keep at least one rooster in the flock for added security from overhead eagles and hawks. When the flock is not out adventuring, they are hanging out in their secured playground which has over 35 sq ft of fun per bird.

Free range farm eggs currently available for pickup, in Hoodsport, WA from Monday to Friday between 11 am and 1 pm. If you’re located in Union, Lacey, Tumwater or Olympia, we can also arrange a drop off, depending on your location. Other pick up location information is given at checkout.
